A Magical Miscellany
A Magical Miscellany explores the connection between nature, folklore, and the feeling of mystery that comes with being in the forest at night. I photographed different woodland areas using a speedlight flash, which briefly lit up the darkness and revealed unexpected details—like catching a moment you weren’t supposed to see.
I was inspired by myths and folk stories where forests are more than just settings—they’re places of magic, transformation, and hidden meaning. By using flash photography in the dark, I wanted to create images that feel a little eerie, a little enchanted—like something out of a fairytale.
Each photo stands on its own, but together they form a collection of strange, dreamlike moments that invite the viewer to imagine the stories behind them.
